Abstract:
Medicinal and aromatic plants are often used as natural medicines because of their remedial properties. Product of plant origin has become an exciting area of research in drug discovery and development. Medicinal and aromatic plants are mainly exploited for essential oil extraction for many application in industries. This study aims to evaluate two extraction methods on essential oil percentage and components of celery and parsley seeds. Celery essential oil percentage gave insignificant effect according to the two used methods, meanwhile parsley essential oil percentage appeared significant values, the main components of the two plants were decreased with extracted by evaporator, (limonene of celery and Myristicin of parsley). Limonene was decreased from 71.32% with hydro distillation to 42.04% with evaporator hydro distillation, myristicin was lower from 77.58% to 53.69% according to the previously methods. Monoterpene hydrocarbons were decreased in two plants with evaporator hydro distillation, but oxygenated compounds were increased and the decrease was very low in both two plants, meanwhile sesquiterpene hydrocarbons cleared decrease in celery and increase in parsley. According to previously, recommended by application the two methods (hydroditilation of water and evaporator) for essential oil extraction of both of celery and parsley seeds

Abstract:
Background: Since early times, the people of Morocco use medicinal and aromatic plants as traditional medicine to heal different human ailments. However, little studies have been made in the past to properly document and promote the traditional ethnomedical knowledge.
Objective: This study was carried out in the Rif (North of Morocco), it aimed to establish the catalog of medicinal plants and to identify medicinal and aromatic plant used by the local people to treat diseases, together with the associated ethnomedicinal knowledge.
Material and Methods: The ethnomedical information collected was from 1000 local healers using semi-structured interviews, free listing and focus group. Family importance value (FIV), relative frequency of citation (RFC), plant part value (PPV), fidelity level (FL) and informant consensus factor (ICF) were employed in data analysis. Medicinal and aromatic plant were collected, identified and kept at the natural resources and biodiversity laboratory, Ibn Tofail University, Kenitra.
Results: During the present study 290 medicinal plant species belonging to 74 families has been documented. The most frequent ailments reported were osteoarticular diseases (ICF = 0.9818). The majority of the remedies were prepared from decoction (38.6%). Leaves were the most frequently used plant part (PPV 0.364) and Rosmarinus officinalis L. (RFC = 0.189) was the specie most commonly prescribed by local herbalists.
Conclusions: The results of this study showed the existence of indigenous ethnomedicinal knowledge of medicinal plants in the Moroccan Rif to treat diseases. Further research on phytochemical, pharmacological and toxicological should be considered to discover new drugs from these documented plants.

He is the director of Drug Information Services and Clinical Pharmacist at Nekemte Specialized Hospital and Shambu General Hospital .He is currently an instructor of Clinical Pharmacy and Researcher at Wollega University,Institute of Health Science,School of Pharmacy,Department of Clinical Pharmacy. Abstract:
Background: - Asthma is a world-wide problem, with about 338 million people estimated to have the condition and one of the major health problems world-wide, particularly increasing in developing countries. Although new drugs and evidence-based guidelines have been developed in recent years, there is still a challenge in reducing asthma morbidity and mortality.
Objective:-The study was aimed to assess asthma pharmacotherapy and treatment outcome among adult asthmatic patient.
Methods: A retrospective cross-sectional study was among asthmatic patients who were attending at NekemteSpecialized Hospital from 2018 to 2019. Data was collected by using semi-structured data collection format adapted after reviews of different literatures. The data was entered in to computer using EPI-manager 7.0.1 software. Analysis was done using statistical software for social sciences (SPSS) 24. Descriptive data was generated and placed in terms of frequency and percentage.
Result and Discussion: From a total of 186 asthmatic patients, 107(57.52%) were female and 79(4.50%) were male. About3 7(19.89%) asthmatic patient, received prednisolone and salbutamol tablet combination therapy. In relation to their outcome, 129(69.35) of asthmatic patients had relieved symptoms while 57(30.65) of them had somewhat relieved of their conditions, and there was no patient who was totally unrelieved. The commonest precipitating diseases include pneumonia (40%). Among the total patients, 50(26.88%) of them had exacerbated asthma from which, 29(58%) were related to environmental condition while 21(42%) of them were as a result of medical conditions.

Abstract:
Tagetes sp., commonly known as Marigold, is the member of the Asteraceae family. Different cultivars of marigold flowers (marigold orange, yellow, red and white) contain several pigments which appear to vary with source materials. Marigold flower (Tagetes patula L.) is a very good source of carotenoiod mainly lutein. In the present study, four varieties of Tagetes patula L. i.e. orange, yellow, red and white are utilized to extract the lutein present by using various solvents with the increasing order of polarity viz. n- hexane, petroleum ether, acetone and methanol. Among these solvents, methanol showed the highest yield of 52.51%, 29.2%, 44.15% and 7.98 % (w/w) from marigold orange, yellow, red and white respectively.Among the different cultivars of marigold flower, orange variety contains the maximum amount of lutein 154.96 ± 0.62 mg per g of extract. The presence of lutein ester in the extract is further confirmed by different analytical methods such as HPLC, UV-VIS spectrophotometer, Fourier Transform Infra Red Spectrophotometer (FTIR) and finally LC-MS. In FTIR analysis lutein ester shows ester bond distinctively at 1742.043cm-1 , which is absent in lutein.Lutein is present in the extract as ester of fatty acids. The fatty acid composition of the ester fraction is determined and it is seen that the saturated fatty acid content was maximum (about 75 %) and unsaturated fatty acid was about 25 %. Dr. Aisha Aijaz studied class X and XII from AMU, has completed BUMS in 2005 from AKTC, AMU and MD (Unani) in 2010 from the same college, received two university GOLD medals for scoring highest marks in BUMS and MD courses, had been teaching the UG & PG students from October 2011 to September 2016 in Ayurvedic & Unani Tibbia College, Karolbagh, New Delhi,. authored two books on unani subjects. Now working as the assistant professor in the department of Munafeul Aza (physiology), AKTC, AMU, Aligarh since September 2016.
Abstract:
Unani system of medicine is an exquisite system of holistic healthcare that practices health promotion, disease prevention, diagnosis and cure as well as the rehabilitation. Moreover, these herbal cometics have given their due importance in Unani medicine. Various ancient Unani physicians including Ali Ibn Abbas Majusi, Abu Bakr Muhammad Bin Zakariya Razi, Ibn Sina and Ismail Jurjani etc. have discussed herbal cosmetics in their ancient manuscripts in detail. Herbal cosmetics for skin problems hyperpigmentation, sunburn, blemishes, scaling and dryness are also discussed. Few of these herbal preparations were selected and reviewed for their indications, methods of preparation and modes of application. Such formulations if adopted by cosmetic industry after dermatological tests and clinical trials can promise natural skincare that’s cheaper and show few or no side effects. The details will be discussed in full length paper with references.
